Take a guided Kayak Tour through the Mangroves in the ocean or through the Everglades. Garl is the only official Everglades Kayak Guide and can show you manatees, alligators, dolphins, snakes, turtles, sharks, and a wide variety of birds.

Everglades Kayaking

$150 full day trip · $100 half day trip

Kayak through the mangroves on Florida Bay. An exploration of Florida Bay as only Coastal Kayaking can provide. Garl will point out wading birds, many inhabitants of a mangrove ecosystem, sponges, Florida spiny lobster, and perhaps even a manatee or sea turtle!

Trip Itinerary

The tour is NOT dangerous and suited for all ages. There are single and double kayaks available. You can drive your own car into the park or (when seats are available) ride with Garl in his jeep. The drive from Key Largo into the Everglades to Flamingo takes about 1 1/2 hours, Garl will stop a few times on the way to show you his highlights.

Full day tour begins in Key Largo at 1 pm (summer) or 12 noon (winter)
Half day tour begins in Key Largo at 6 am (am trip) and at the park entrance at 4 pm (pm trip)

The order of the following activities depends on the weather and the conditions and the type of trip:

  • Everglades Sweetwater Kayaktour (Mangroves, Crocodiles, Snakes, Turtles etc.)
  • Hikes to Alligator Holes
  • Everglades Brackwater Kayaktour (Alligators, Snakes, Turtles etc.)
  • Everglades Saltwater Kayak tour with sunset
  • Night hike with Alligators, Owls, Racoons, Snakes etc.

Ocean Side Kayaking

$150 full day trip · $100 half day trip

Between the Atlantic Ocean and Florida Bay, the unique topography of the Florida Keys allows for a number of different kayaking adventures. A "ocean side" paddle may mean a quick trip out to a Key Largo patch reef, or to the historic Indian Key. Garl will point out marine life while coasting over tidal flats, reefs, and sea grass habitats. You are sure to see a great variety of marine life during this once in a lifetime experience.

Don't forget your bathing suit. There is always a possibility of jumping in for a quick snorkel over these great ecosystems!

Trip Itinerary

We can pick you up or meet at the launch point. After a brief talk and safety and paddling lesson, we'll be off and exploring the Everglades. We can go for a half day (about 4hrs), or a full day for about 8hrs. We'll stop for breaks, lunch and great photo opportunities.
